Here’s the staged battle of Salerno, Italy from Camp Mabry Muster Day 2014. After being at this event, I watched a documentary with interviews of concentration camp survivors. Simon Wiesenthal, famous Nazi hunter and camp survivor, said as he was liberated he could barely even walk, but he just wanted to look at the American flag. He felt, upon seeing our flag, that every star stood for something – justice, friendship, culture, etc. – and each stripe stood for the road to freedom. Such a beautiful thought.
